 Freedom Health offers a Medicare Advantage plan under the name "Freedom Medicare Plan" through a contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Medicare Advantage is an "alternative to traditional Medicare" and supplemental plans. Enrollees change the administration of their Medicare benefits to Freedom Health frequently eliminating the need for "Medigap" coverage replacing these benefits with a NO premium plan with expanded benefits including: prescription coverage, preventive health care services, vision benefits, hearing benefits, and dental benefits. Freedom Health began marketing the Freedom Medicare Plan in Marion County on July 7, 2005 with the first effective members on September 1, 2005. Freedom Health received approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to begin marketing the Freedom Medicare Plan, during the annual Open Enrollment Period (November 15 through December 31), in Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Freedom Health anticipates launching the Liberty Plan commercial products during the 1st quarter of 2006 followed by the Freedom 1st Medicaid product mid-year 2006.
